Moisturizing Baby Wipes Showdown

I’ve done the research for you. Which brand comes out on top?

I’ve always used water-based wipes, but I started seeing more options with added ingredients to moisturize and hydrate your baby’s delicate skin. That got me wondering: do these so-called best moisturizing baby wipes actually nourish and protect better, or are they just another marketing gimmick? And most importantly—are the added ingredients actually safe for my baby?

So, I put four brands of moisturizing baby wipes to the test, breaking down how well they work, what’s in them, and if they’re worth making the switch from my go-to water-based wipes. Here’s what I found when I tested Coterie Soft Wipes, Amazon Elements Sensitive Wipes, Pampers Sensitive Wipes, and Millie Moon Sensitive Wipes—and which one came out on top.

TLDR: I loved Coterie Soft Wipes! Get 10% your first subscription order with code EXTRA10

Functionality

Coterie Soft Wipe

These wipes are thick, soft, and huge—up to 30% bigger than most, so you actually need fewer per change. The texture is plush and cushy, making it feel more like a soft washcloth than a standard wipe. I love that they’re damp enough to clean well but not so wet that you’re waiting for your baby’s skin to dry before you can finish a change. They’re infused with moisturizers to help keep skin hydrated, which makes a difference if your baby is prone to dryness.

And the packaging? No more yanking out five wipes at once. The one-touch lid makes it easy to grab one at a time, even with one hand. 5/5

Amazon Elements

These wipes are average in size and thickness, but the texture feels a bit rougher than others. They’re wet enough at first, but I noticed they dry out really quickly, making bigger messes harder to clean. The packaging isn’t great either—wipes clump together, so you’re constantly trying to separate them mid-change, which isn’t fun with a wiggly baby. 3/5

Pampers Sensitive

These wipes are soft, gentle, and hold plenty of moisture, so they clean well without much effort. But they’re almost too wet. Every time I used one, my child’s skin felt soaked, and I had to wait for it to dry before finishing the change. Not ideal. They do dispense easily—no frustrating clumping. 4/5

Millie Moon Sensitive

These wipes hold up well, but I’m not sure how moisturizing they actually are. They feel just like a regular wipe—not particularly hydrating, but not drying either. And the texture is a bit papery, which isn’t my favorite. They did dispense easily without any clumping. 3/5

Functionality Winner: Coterie

Ingredient safety

Coterie Soft Wipe

Unlike basic water wipes, Coterie’s Soft Wipe is made with moisturizers and emollients to hydrate and protect your baby’s skin, not just clean it. These are EWG Verified, hypoallergenic, and don’t include any fragrance, dyes, parabens, and phthalates. It has the National Eczema Association’s Seal of Acceptance. 5/5

Amazon Elements

These wipes are fragrance-free and made without parabens, dyes, or phthalates, but they do contain sodium benzoate as a preservative, which can be irritating for sensitive skin. They’re marketed as gentle, but the ingredient list isn’t as clean as other options. 3/5

Pampers Sensitive

This option is hypoallergenic and free of any fragrances, parabens, and alcohol, but they do have propylene glycol, a common preservative that can cause irritation. The ingredient list is cleaner than some, but not the best if you’re looking for the safest option. 3/5

Millie Moon Sensitive

These wipes are fragrance-free and made without parabens, dyes, or alcohol, however they’re made with preservatives like sodium benzoate. This means the ingredient list isn’t quite as clean as you’d expect. 3/5

Ingredient Safety Winner: Coterie

Eco-friendliness

Coterie Soft Wipe

100% plant-based, plastic-free fibers. FSC Certified for responsible sourcing. 5/5

Amazon Elements

Plant-based, but not biodegradable. Brand transparency on sourcing is very limited. 2/5

Pampers Sensitive

Made with responsibly sourced materials, but not biodegradable and contains synthetic fibers. 2/5

Millie Moon Sensitive

Plant-based but not biodegradable. Company highlights sustainability efforts but lacks clear third-party certifications. 3/5

Eco-Friendliness Winner: Coterie

After testing these moisturizing baby wipes, I’m officially a Soft Wipe convert—thanks to Coterie. They’re gentle, effective, and actually help hydrate and protect baby’s skin without any questionable ingredients.

Here’s why I’m sticking with them:

✅ Hydrates while it cleans

✅ Extra soft

✅ Locks in moisture

✅ Bigger size = fewer wipes

Another Coterie product I swear by? Their diapers. Hands down, one of the best choices I’ve made as a mom. And because I know how overwhelming it can be to sort through all the options, I’ve done the research on other non-toxic must-haves too.
