When I was researching formulas for my now 6-month-old, I built a firm list of “non-negotiables.”
- A 60:40 whey-to-casein ratio designed for easy digestion
- DHA to support brain and eye development
- Lactose as the primary carbohydrate source
- No palm oil or palm olein oil (these may cause firm 💩)
- Organic ingredients and transparent sourcing
- Supply reliability (who remembers the formula shortage in 2022?)
So, I narrowed things down to the only four organic whole milk formulas I could find: Bobbie, Little Spoon, Kendamil, and Nara. Spoiler… only one formula checked every single box. Here’s my research, so you don’t have to do your own.
