This post is in partnership with Hiya. I only endorse products I believe in.
I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old, and getting anything green into them is hit or miss. Some weeks they drink smoothies with spinach, other weeks they act like I am poisoning them. And when school germs and winter colds roll in, I worry about what they are actually getting nutrition wise.
That is why I like having a kids greens mix in our daily rotation. Not a replacement for food, just something easy on days when meals are basically pasta and fruit. The key is it has to be something they will actually take and that I feel good about.
I’m testing four popular kids greens and superfoods mixes to see how they really work with picky kids: Hiya Kids Daily Greens vs. Grüns Kids vs. Amazing Grass Kidz vs. Beam Kids Superpowder.
Quick legend: 🥇category winner |🥈category runner-up | ⛔don’t recommend in the category

Criteria #1: Nutrition
🥇Hiya Kids Daily Greens + Superfoods
Hiya is one of the few greens blends created specifically for kids, not just an adult powder relabeled for families. It’s designed to support digestion, gut health, brain development, and overall wellness using whole-food ingredients.
- 55+ whole food–sourced ingredients, including fruits, vegetables, digestive enzymes, and superfoods
- Includes a greens blend, digestion blend, superfoods blend, and core development blend
- 0 grams of sugar, naturally sweetened with stevia
- 2 grams of fiber per serving
- 1 scoop per serving
🥈 Amazing Grass Kidz Superfood
A plant-based greens powder made from a blend of fruits, veggies, and greens to help support overall daily nutrition.
- 29 greens, fruits, and vegetables
- Blend of greens and antioxidant-rich superfoods
- 2 grams of added sugar per serving
- 1 gram of fiber per serving
- 1 scoop per serving
⛔Grüns Kids
A kids’ multivitamin plus greens gummy made with whole-food fruits, veggies, and mushrooms.
- 60+ whole-food vegetables, fruits, and mushrooms
- Adaptogens and prebiotics
- 20+ vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, D, E, B vitamins, folate, iron, and zinc
- 7 grams of added sugar per serving 4 grams of fiber per serving
- 6 gummies per serving
The gummy format is notoriously unstable in terms of delivering consistent nutrition, so though we like the ingredient profile, we can’t recommend due to format.
🥈Beam Kids All-in-One Greens Superpowder
A cross between a greens powder and multivitamin.
- 19 vegetables and fruits
- Probiotic blend
- 13 essential vitamins and minerals
- 1 gram of added sugar
- 2 grams of fiber per serving
- 1 scoop per serving
Criteria #2: Ingredient Safety
🥇Hiya Kids Daily Greens + Superfoods
Hiya has some of the strongest safety standards in the kids’ supplement space. They’re one of the only brands with Clean Label Project Certification, an extra level of testing that checks for things like heavy metals and contaminants.
- Clean Label Project Certified using thorough testing to confirm purity and safety
- Third-party tested: Hiya tests for heavy metals (like lead), microbials, contaminants, and overall quality + purity
- Produced in FDA-registered facilities, with each batch tested by independent labs to meet federal and state standards, including California Prop 65
- Facilities follow Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Free from: GMOs, the top 9 allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, and sesame), gluten, artificial dyes, added sugar, adaptogens, dairy, and gummy additives.
⛔Amazing Grass Kidz Superfood
Amazing Grass offers little transparency around testing or manufacturing compared to the other brands.
- Free from: gluten, dairy, and GMOs
- No published information on third-party testing for heavy metals, contaminants, or allergens
- No detailed allergen statement available beyond dairy/gluten-free labeling
🥈Grüns Kids
Grüns keeps their safety process transparent, with routine third-party testing and an allergen-free formula.
- Third-party tested by Eurofins Scientific for purity, pesticides, heavy metals, and microbial contaminants
- Tested to be free of 70 pesticides, 16 environmental impurities, 4 heavy metals, and 9 microbial contaminants
- Manufactured in NSF, GMP, and FDA-registered facilities
- Free from: the top 9 allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, and sesame), plus artificial colors, artificial flavors, and artificial additives.
🥈Beam Kids All-In-One Greens Superpowder
- Made in an NSF-certified facility.
- Third-party tested for heavy metals, yeast, mold, and harmful bacteria.
- Free from: Milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, soybeans, sesame, and gluten.
Criteria #3: Taste
🥇Hiya Daily Greens + Superfoods
My son calls this his “morning chocolate milk,” which tells you everything you need to know about how good it tastes. Hiya manages to be kid-approved without any sugar. Both the chocolate and vanilla flavors are kid-friendly with zero earthy or bitter aftertaste. You can mix it into milk or a plant-based milk (it even works as a quick hot chocolate), and the vanilla blends easily into smoothies, oats, yogurt, or baked snacks.
⛔Amazing Grass Kidz Superfood
Amazing Grass has a mild, chocolaty flavor (with a berry option, too). It definitely tastes more like a traditional greens powder with an earthy texture, but still works when mixed into milk, smoothies, and warm drinks, or used in baked goods. My daughter drank it, but my son wouldn’t touch it.
🥈Grüns Kids
This gummy tastes like a fruit snack more than a greens supplement. Each daily pack has a blended sweet greens + strawberry taste. Kids who love gummies will likely enjoy these, though the sweetness level is noticeably higher and candy-like in their original blend because of the added sugar.
Beam Kids All-In-One Greens Superpowder
This greens powder comes in both chocolate and chocolate chip cookie flavors. It also tastes like chocolate milk, and is easily drinkable when mixed with milk or water.
Criteria #4: Cost
Hiya Daily Greens + Superfoods
$58 for 30-day supply, or $1.93 per serving.
🥇Amazing Grass Kidz Superfood
$13.99 for 30-day supply, or $0.47 per serving.
Grüns Kids
$66.99 for 28-day supply, or $2.40 per serving.
Beam Kids All-In-One Greens Superpowder
$55 per bag, or $2.75 per serving.
Hiya Kids Daily Greens + Superfoods is my top pick!
Hiya is the clear winner for our family because it has no ]sugar, rigorous safety standards, and they genuinely ask for their chocolate milk everyday. Some of the other options are either too earthy for them or gummy-based, which I try to avoid.
