Criteria 1: Clean Ingredients

Super Sammies

  • Packed with protein: With 8 grams of protein, I feel confident that my kids will be satisfied and energized between meals. 
  • Lower in sugar: This sandwich only packs 7g of total sugar, with only 4g of it coming from added sugar. That’s 58% less added sugar than the leading crustless PB&J! Having an option that won't send my kids bouncing off the walls, especially during school hours, is a real win for me.
  • High in fiber: I appreciate that each sandwich is made with whole wheat bread, giving my kids 4g of fiber. Not only does this promote good bathroom habits, but it also keeps them feeling fuller for longer, which is a bonus during busy school days.
  • Bonus ingredients: I'm thrilled that these sandwiches include extra nutritious ingredients like steel-cut oats, dates, and chia seeds, food my kids don't typically eat.
  • Certifications: Super Sammies are with non-GMO ingredients and are created by a team of registered dietitians to meet higher nutrition standards. 

OG Crustless PB&J

With less protein and fiber, and more sugar per sandwich, the OG crustless PB&J isn’t the best option if you want your kiddo to be full, satisfied, and concentrated in school. Here are the details:

  • 10 grams of total sugar with 9 grams coming from added sugars like white sugar and molasses 
  • The main ingredient is enriched, unbleached flour, which is basically flour without any fiber. That’s why the fiber content is really low, just 2 grams per serving.
  • Even though it has 6 grams of protein, that's still less than what you get from Super Sammies.
