I’ve done the research for you. Which brand comes out on top?
This post is in partnership with Coterie. I only endorse products I believe in.
As parents, we’re constantly faced with an endless stream of choices, and finding safe, reliable products for our babies can feel like a daunting task. But a baby wipe is a baby wipe, right? Wrong.
After the summer headlines about PFAS chemicals turning up in a major retailer's wipes, I knew it was time to put the top brands to the test.
So, I’ve tested all the leading baby wipes, comparing everything from safety to performance. Whether you're looking for the cleanest ingredients, the best value, or just a wipe that actually works, I’ve got you covered. Here are the winners—and the ones you’ll want to avoid.
Quick legend:🥇category winner |🥈category runner-up | ⛔ don’t recommend in the category

Functionality
🥇Coterie: They measure 8” X 7.5” making them the largest wipe I could find. The size and thickness of Coterie wipes are unbeatable and completely distinguishes themselves against any other wipe on this list. You truly only need one to get the job done. 5/5
Dyper: Dimensions: 8” X 7” The texture and thickness of these wipes make cleaning your baby easy, but my biggest complaint is the packaging itself: the opening is so small it's difficult to get wipes out, especially if you have larger hands. 3/5
🥈Honest: Dimensions: 8” X 7.1” These wipes have a great texture, good moisture and decent thickness. 4/5
Water Wipes: Dimensions: 7.7” X 5.5” These wipes are soft, but they're too small and dry, and the poor packaging means you'll need several to get the job done. 2/5
HelloBello: Dimensions: 7.76” X 6.7” These wipes retain moisture well, but they are quite thin and the packaging could use some improvement. 2/5
⛔Huggies Natural Care: Dimensions: 7.7” X 6.6” These wipes have poor durability, frequently tearing during use, which results in wasted product and added frustration. 1/5
Pampers Aqua Pure: Dimensions: 7” X 6.8” These wipes are soft and have excellent moisture.. but almost too much so that your skin feels wet after using them. 3/5
Ingredient Safety
When choosing baby wipes, watch out for harsh ingredients like parabens, phthalates, sodium benzoate, benzalkonium chloride, and formaldehyde-releasing agents. These chemicals can cause skin irritation, rashes, and allergic reactions.
🥇Coterie: Hypoallergenic, alcohol free, paraben free, fragrance free, dye free, EWG Verified, and awarded a National Eczema Association Seal of Approval. They are the first brand to release a Safety Report. 5/5
Dyper: Hypoallergenic, alcohol free, paraben free, fragrance free, and dye free. However, they do contain sodium benzoate which may cause irritation for babies with extra sensitive skin. 3/5
Honest: Hypoallergenic, alcohol free, paraben free, and fragrance free. However, they do contain sodium benzoate which may cause irritation for babies with extra sensitive skin. 3/5
Water Wipes: Hypoallergenic, alcohol free, paraben free, fragrance free, and dye free. The advertising is misleading though, as they do contain benzalkonium chloride which has been linked to severe skin, eye, and respiratory irritations. 3/5
HelloBello: Hypoallergenic, alcohol free, paraben free, and fragrance free. However, they do contain sodium benzoate which may cause irritation for babies with extra sensitive skin. 3/5
⛔Huggies Natural Care: Hypoallergenic, alcohol free, paraben free, and fragrance free. Unfortunately, they include a long list of unsafe ingredients, such as sodium benzoate, propylene glycol, and polyethylene glycol, which can penetrate the skin and may carry harmful chemicals into the bloodstream. 2/5
⛔Pampers Aqua Pure: Hypoallergenic, alcohol free, paraben free, and fragrance free. Like huggies, they have a long list of unsafe ingredients, including sodium benzoate, hydrogenated castor oil, and propylene glycol which can cause irritation. 2/5
Eco-Friendly
🥇Coterie: 100% plant-based, plastic-free fibers. 5/5
🥇Dyper: 100% plant based, plastic free fibers. 5/5
🥇Honest: Plant-based, plastic-free fibers. 5/5
Water Wipes: Claim they're biodegradable, but the brand isn’t transparent about what the wipes are made of or where the materials are sourced. 2/5
HelloBello: Plant-based. They claim to reduce their environmental impact through their manufacturing process and assert that they avoid greenwashing by seeking third-party verification. However, they are not transparent with their studies. 2/5
⛔Huggies Natural Care: Made from a blend of natural and synthetic materials, including plastic. This is the least eco-friendly wipe on the list! 1/5
Pampers Aqua Pure: Made from responsibly produced cotton, but have no other information on environmental impact or if they are compostable. 2/5
Cost
Coterie: 4 packs (224 wipes) when ordered with diapers = $25 ($0.11/wipe)
Dyper: 4 packs (220 wipes) = $24 ($0.11/wipe)
Honest: 5 packs (300 wipes) = $24.95 ($0.08/wipe)
Water Wipes: 5 packs (300 wipes) = $20.99 ($0.07/wipe)
