This post is in partnership with Hiya. I only endorse products I believe in.

Normally, we focus the kids on eating whole foods and limiting sweets, but there are weeks (ok, months) when it’s tough to get my kids to eat anything besides buttered noodles and bowls of cereal, especially during their picky eating phases. That’s where a multivitamin comes in. It covers those inevitable nutritional gaps.

Of course, not all kids’ multivitamins are created equal, and some are definitely better than others. So, I decided to compare two popular options to see how they stack up. Here’s my honest take on Hiya Kids Daily Multivitamin and Multeez Daily Multivitamin .

Criteria #1:  Nutrition

The first thing I look at in a multivitamin is nutrient quality. I want a multivitamin that supports healthy growth and is formulated with highly absorbable nutrient forms. I also look for brands without added sugar because I want to support oral health without fueling sugar habits (my kids certainly don’t need any more sugar).

Hiya Kids Daily Multivitamin

  • Loaded with 15+ essential vitamins and minerals to help fill some of the common gaps in kids' diets
  • Features a blend of 12 fruits and vegetables
  • Includes selenium, an important mineral that’s often missing from other kids’ multivitamins,
  • Uses L-5-MTHF, an easy-to-absorb form of folate, which is important for healthy growth
  • Includes vitamin D3, the active and more absorbable form of vitamin D
  • 0 grams of sugar, and naturally sweetened with monk fruit extract and mannitol
  • Chewable form, so doesn't look like candy or stick to kids’ teeth
  • 1 dose = 1 chewable

Multeez Daily Multivitamin

  • Contains 11 nutrients
  • Includes vitamin D3
  • 3 grams of added sugar from rice syrup, cane sugar, honey, and apple and orange juice concentrate
  • Gummy form
  • 1 dose = 8 gummies

Nutrition Winner: Hiya Kids Daily Multivitamin

Criteria #2: Ingredient Safety

Supplements in the US aren’t regulated by the FDA, so it’s important to choose a brand that goes above and beyond to ensure safety and quality.

Hiya Kids Daily Multivitamin

  • Multivitamin and product bottles are third party tested for harmful contaminants
  • Clean Label Project Certified and Clean Label Purity Award
  • Non-GMO, gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy free
  • Made with natural colors and flavors (beet root, turmeric root, spirulina)
  • Transparent about their manufacturing process, and complies with federal and state safety standards, including California’s Proposition 65
  • Free from additives like gelatin or pectin, which can stick to teeth and cause dental problems

Multeez Daily Multivitamin

  • Third-party tested
  • Clean Label Project Certified
  • Non-GMO, gluten-free, and dairy-free
  • Free of artificial dyes and colors
  • Made with pectin to create a gummy, sticky texture

Ingredient Safety Winner: Hiya Kids Daily Multivitamin

This was close but it goes to Hiya for obtaining the Purity Award from Clean Label Project!

Criteria #3: Taste

Hiya Kids Daily Multivitamin

Hiya vitamins have a sweet and fruity taste. My kids love that they come in an assortment of colors with cherry, strawberry, tropical, and green apple flavors.

Multeez Daily Multivitamin

Aside from being very chewy, and having added sugar, these strawberry flavored gummies really didn’t taste good.

Taste Winner: Hiya Kids Daily Multivitamin

Criteria #4: Cost

Hiya Kids Daily Multivitamin

$0.50/dose for the first month, then $1/dose

Multeez Daily Multivitamin

$9.99 for 8 packs, or $1.25/dose

Cost Winner: Hiya Kids Daily Multivitamin

Hiya Daily Kids Multivitamin is my pick for best kids multivitamin!

Hiya really is my top choice for nutrition, safe ingredients, quality manufacturing, and delicious, kid-approved taste. I highly recommend Hiya multivitamins for kids!
