Summer in our house means travel (hi, Europe 👋), outdoor adventures, and loooong days by the pool. It’s the best kind of chaos, but every year, I run into the same struggle: keeping the kids hydrated. Between the sun, all the running around, and just being kids, they’re constantly sweating it out and not nearly as interested in drinking water as they should be. And let’s be real, every time I say “take a sip,” I’m met with groans or eye rolls. So I knew I needed a better game plan, something that would actually make hydration appealing (and maybe even a little fun). That’s when I came across Hiya’s newest launch: Kids Daily Hydration—and here’s my review.

Do kids need electrolyte drinks for hydration??

If getting your kids to drink enough water feels like a daily battle, you are so not alone. I’m right there with you. And honestly, it’s just as important as making sure they’re eating their veggies. Hydration affects everything, from how well they focus, to their energy levels, digestion, and even their mood.

But here’s the thing: I’m not into loading them up with juice boxes or sports drinks just to sneak in some fluids. Most of those are packed with sugar and artificial stuff I’d rather skip. That’s why I started looking into hydration supplements and electrolyte drinks, specifically ones made for kids. When done right, they’re a super helpful (and mom-approved) way to keep little bodies hydrated, without the sugar crash or mystery ingredients.

About Hiya

The backstory

When two dads set out to learn more about kids’ nutrition, they were pretty shocked by what they found. So many children’s vitamins were packed with sugar, artificial ingredients, and gummy junk—basically candy in disguise. That didn’t sit right with them. So they decided to do something about it. That’s how Hiya was born—with a mission to make vitamins that actually support kids’ health, without all the extra stuff they just don’t need.

What makes Hiya different?

Hiya does things differently by ditching added sugars altogether. Instead, they use natural sweeteners like monk fruit extract—so kids still get that yummy taste they love, without all the sugar they don’t need.

What’s inside Hiya’s new Kids Daily Hydration?

One of my favorite things about Hiya's Kids Daily Hydration is that it’s specifically formulated with the right amount of electrolytes for kids. Unlike most hydration drinks that are designed for adults (and often contain too much sugar and artificial ingredients– even for adults!), this one is tailored to meet the nutritional needs of children, with kid-friendly berry flavor that they actually enjoy. Here are some other features I appreciate:

  • 0 grams of added sugar (yes, really!)
  • Electrolytes like potassium and sodium to keep them hydrated and balanced
  • Made with real fruit and Himalayan pink salt
  • No artificial ingredients or dyes—ever
  • Super easy to use—just one scoop turns water into a berry-flavored drink they think is “juice”
  • Packed with essential nutrients like magnesium, vitamin C, iron, calcium, and prebiotic fiber for gut health
  • Non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free
  • Third-party tested for quality, purity, and safety

Other tips to improve hydration in kids

Hiya’s hydration powder is such a helpful tool, but I also love mixing in a few fun, everyday tricks to keep hydration top of mind. Here are some of our go-to strategies:

  • Serve up hydrating fruits and veggies like watermelon, cucumber, berries, and bell peppers during meals and snacks. They’re delicious and naturally full of water.
  • Freeze Hiya Kids Hydration mixed with water into popsicle molds for a fun, cooling treat (bonus: they think it’s dessert!).
  • Use the stickers that come with Hiya to let your kid decorate their reusable water bottle
  • Add colorful straws to their water cups
  • Toss a scoop of Hiya Kids Hydration into a smoothie with spinach, frozen fruit, yogurt, and nut butter—it’s hydrating, packed with nutrients, and totally kid-approved.

My final thoughts on Hiya’s Daily Hydration: It’s a win for me!

Hiya's Kids Daily Hydration has officially become my go-to for keeping my kids hydrated, healthy, and happy—especially with summer right around the corner. I’m definitely stocking up now so we’re ready for all the pool days, beach hangs, and travel adventures ahead.
