NEW MODERN MOM

Sometimes new traditions are born as a result of a clever marketing campaign or celebrity Instagram posts. Many of them, I dismiss, but one custom that I totally bought into is the babymoon. I went on a babymoon during both Caden and Willow's pregnancies, and choosing luxury babymoon destinations made those trips the perfect way to prepare my mind, body, soul, and relationship with my husband for the new life that would be brought into our home.

For those of you who aren’t familiar, a babymoon is a vacation you take with your spouse before your new child is born. It’s a way of celebrating the chapter that’s closing and getting excited for the new one that’s beginning. The trip should be focused on connecting with your partner, relaxing your body and mind, and pampering yourself, perhaps at a luxury babymoon destination. Usually, people go in the second trimester (between 14- 28 weeks), however, most doctors and airlines will approve you for travel up to 36 weeks!

One of the best ways to ensure a truly revitalizing experience is by choosing a luxury babymoon destination. That way, you don’t have to mess with much planning, and everything you need for an elevated and relaxing experience is right there on the premises. To help you choose the best one, I’ve created a roundup of my top luxury resorts for parents-to-be!

Luxury Babymoon Destinations

Best luxury babymoon destinations in the U.S.

Carneros Resort and Spa

Napa Valley, California

We love traveling to Wine Country. Even now that our kids are here, we still make regular trips to Napa Valley to relax and reset. I have a full list of my favorite places to visit with kids in Napa. However, if you’re planning a luxury babymoon, I highly recommend Carneros Resort and Spa.

You can rent private cottages that are perfect for reconnecting with your spouse and resting before the birth of your child. They have floor-to-ceiling patio doors, a fire pit, an outdoor tub, a rooftop deck, and a full kitchen. It’s a dog-friendly resort as well! (I personally wouldn’t want to celebrate my babymoon with Bear, but I love that it’s an option.)

On the premises, you’ll also find multiple restaurants, complimentary breakfast, 2 pools (including an adults-only pool), butler services, and a luxury spa and fitness center. If your days aren’t full enough, Carneros has daily events, biking, private gardens, and a wine tasting room . . . though that’s more for your spouse. Nonetheless, you’ll definitely feel pampered even if you don’t leave the premises. However, I’d recommend exploring since it’s only 10 minutes from Napa and Sonoma!

Everline Resort & Spa

Lake Tahoe, California

Lake Tahoe is another favorite destination of ours. We even bought a vacation home in Lake Tahoe a few years ago because we absolutely love the mountain town. You simply would not believe the number of year-round festivities and the gorgeous mountain setting! However, if you’re not ready to invest in a vacation property, the Everlien Resort & Spa is a great place for a babymoon.

They have both rooms and suites with cozy fireplaces, kitchenettes, and amazing views. The resort has 6 on-site restaurants, a spa, a golf course, swimming pools, a private ice skating rink, and regular “special activities.” Nearby, you can also enjoy scenic hiking, fishing, and shopping! No matter what time of year you come to Tahoe, it’s always beautiful and there’s always plenty to do.

1 Hotel Hannalei Bay

Kauai, Hawaii

Kauai is where I went on my babymoon with Caden! To complete the picture, we actually made the trip back to Kauai when he was 16 months old! You really can’t beat the natural beauty and serene setting of Kauai, and you can fully enjoy it at 1 Hotel Hannalei Bay in the north shore of Kauai. This hotel was the former St. Regis Princeville Resort, but was completely renovated and reopened in early 2023. All the rooms are gorgeous and offer plenty of amenities. There is also a robust events calendar with free events for hotel guests like painting, sushi making, sound baths, live music, meditation and more.

Health and wellness are the focus of this beautiful resort, and there is 7 food and beverage outlets offering farm-to-table options. There is even a juice bar to quest your non-alcoholic thirst and a lobby farmstand to grab a quick snack of local produce! And to keep yourself active outside of the numerous hikes and walking paths the island offers, there is a well-curated gym, with options to do private pilates reformer or personal training and tons of free classes like yoga, hot pilates, and bootcamp.

Miraval Arizona

Tucson, Arizona

Arizona is an often-forgotten spot for natural beauty and fun. Plus, if you struggle with allergies when traveling to places with lots of forests and other plant life, Arizona will allow you to appreciate a babymoon without the congestion. The Miraval is another all-inclusive resort that offers a variety of room types including private retreats and villas equipped with indoor-to-outdoor showers, private patios, hot tubs, and full kitchens. All the comforts of home and more, but without the stress and clean-up.

While at the resort, enjoy yoga, meditation, spa treatments, or a private wellness session. You and your partner can also participate in culinary activities, special workshops, or nature hiking! I’d recommend going to Miraval in the cooler months, of course.

The Mansion at Ocean Edge

Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Cape Cod is a peninsula off of Massachusetts that’s perfect for a quaint, relaxing babymoon. Cuddle up around the fireplace, cook in the full kitchens, sit on the private balconies, and soak in the whirlpool tubs while in your suite. On-site, you can also visit the golf course, 7 restaurants, a spa, private beach parties, pools, tennis/pickleball courts, and the beach of course!

Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa

Manalapan, Florida

The beach is one of the best places to have a babymoon. Even if you have nothing planned, you could just spend the entire vacation at the beach. At this resort spa, you can even get a room that looks right out over the ocean! If that’s not super important to you, Eau Palm also has spa services, bike tours, a fitness center, kayaking, and paddle boarding, 2 pools, and 8 restaurants. If you choose Eau Palm, remember to get a private cabana at least one night . . . it’s so worth it!

Twin Farms

Barnard, Vermont

Twin Farms is an adults-only all-inclusive resort that’s truly one of a kind. In the middle of the forest, you can stay in a cottage or treehouse. Yes, you can stay in a treehouse! They’re luxurious and adult-friendly with quality amenities and breathtaking views. You will find plenty to keep yourself occupied on the premises with bonfires, biking, hiking, tennis/pickleball, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fly fishing, sledding, yoga, ax-throwing, swimming, and snowshoeing (depending on the time of year.) There are also opportunities for private dinners, picnics, bee tours, a Japanese furo, and even board/lawn games if you’re really looking for something low-key.

The Broadmoor

Colorado Springs, Colorado

Midwest destinations are great road trip opportunities because they’re near enough to most U.S. locations. The Broadmoor has cottages and cabins with mountain views, outdoor fireplaces, patios, and more. While at The Broadmoor, spend your time at the spa, pools, salon, art gallery, golf course, tennis courts, or just enjoying the outdoors. You can also rent a cabana, visit the movie theater, and even have afternoon tea. The Broadmoor has some of the most diverse listings of activities, perfect for if you and your spouse like to keep busy.

Montage Deer Valley

Park City, Utah

If you like mountains and national parks, here’s another destination for your babymoon! While here, have a blast doing watersports, ice skating, slay rides, golfing, fly fishing, lake time, bowling, hiking, hot air ballooning, horseback riding, and ATVing. Each day, come back to a luxury suite with a fireplace, heated floors, full kitchens, and aesthetic decor. Also, the 8 restaurants will hopefully satiate any pregnancy craving.

Luxury Babymoon Destinations List #1

Best luxury babymoon destinations in the U.S. territories

The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort

Paradise Island, Bahamas

Doesn’t a private villa in the Bahamas sound amazing? The ones at The Ocean Club are just that. You can choose between lawn, beach, or ocean views, but no matter what you choose, you’ll enjoy a soaking tub, hammocks, laundry services, daily yoga and pilates, and a personal attendant. You’ll love that last part so much you’ll want to take him or her home with you!

The property also includes a tennis court, a golf course, a private beach, pools, patios, and a fitness center. For eating, you’ll get daily breakfast, the option to eat at 4 different restaurants (or ordering room service), and nightly canapes. Yes, nightly canapes. It’s a dream babymoon!

The Ritz-Carlton

St. Thomas, Virgin Islands

If it’s a Ritz-Carlton resort, you know it’s high quality. The rooms are modern, gorgeous, and full of homey amenities. You can do the usual resort stuff like going to the spa, lying on the beach, or splashing in the pool. The Ritz-Carlton also has private cabana rentals!

However, what makes the Ritz-Carlton unique are the beachfront gazebos, the adult-friendly arcade, the island hopping opportunities, and the private dinners on sailboats. All of this is perfect for a babymoon where you want to rest and be pampered in a beautiful location!

Best luxury international babymoon destinations

Du Lac et Du Parc Grand Resort

Riva del Garda, Italy

Italy is another top international destination for us! Here’s my post about our favorite places to visit in Italy as a family, but for a babymoon, the Du Lac et Du Parc Grand Resort is where it’s at. The resort offers standard (but still luxurious) hotel rooms as well as bungalows and villas with kitchens, privacy, spa tubs, garden views, and private patios.

On the premises, you can dine at 3 restaurants or experience the unique Italian spa with Mediterranean baths, tropical showers, and whirlpool tubs. The resort also offers sailing, yoga, aerobics, pilates, swimming, board games, biking, a roof-top garden, and tennis playing.

Coco Plum Island Resort

Coco Plum Caye Dangriga, Belize

It's actually on its own private island bordered by a barrier reef full of aquatic life. A private island in another country will definitely make you feel like you’re on a true “getaway.” Plus, it means you’re literally surrounded by gorgeous white sand beaches. The resort is all-inclusive and you can stay in a traditional suite or a private villa. Depending on the package, those rooms could include daily fruit platters, spa visits, and sunset cruising.

For activities, the island offers snorkeling on the reef, tours of the Mayan ruins, swimming (pools or ocean), fishing, diving, kayaking, paddleboarding, birding, and more. Like many of the other beach destinations on this list, there are private cabanas available to rent to elevate that oceanfront experience.

Sun Siyam Olhuveli

Olhuveli Male, Maldives

This all-inclusive resort encompasses 3 whole islands, with 11 bars and restaurants, an adults-only pool, a spa, and lots more. Accommodations are in the form of villas or suits, and depending on what you choose, your room could have access to the ocean, a private plunge pool, or a jacuzzi. The rooms also have mini bars, outdoor rain showers, private loungers, and other luxury accommodations.

If you have a minute, just look at the villas . . . they’re actually over the lagoon on stilts, meaning you can literally step off your patio into the turquoise waters. It’s incredible! The perfect venue for a romantic and relaxing babymoon. While on the island, you can explore an underwater shipwreck, kayak, paddleboard, sail, snorkel, or have dinner on floating platforms out in the open ocean. It’s an experience you definitely won’t forget.

Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel

Paris, France

Imagine looking out your window and seeing real history in the form of Paris’ very own Place de la Concorde or the Eiffel Tower. This hotel has incredible 5-star rooms with walk-in showers, balconies, heated floors, and terraces for a truly luxurious feel. You’ll be treated to complimentary breakfast and can visit 6 on-site restaurants for a Parisian dining experience you probably only dreamed about if it’s your first time in France! All those pregnancy cravings will definitely be satiated by French patisserie and fine dining.

The hotel has a hair salon, a fitness center, multiple pools, and an award-winning spa. At the spa, you can get the usual massage and sauna treatment, but you can also get curated make-up looks, fragrance lines, and hair products specifically selected for you. Hôtel de Crillon also hosts regular pregnancy-friendly special events like wellness retreats and cultural food tastings. (There’s wine, of course, but that’ll have to wait for the next trip!)

Le Blanc Cabo and Le Blanc Cancun

Cabo or Cancun, Mexico

This last one is where we went on our babymoon before Willow was born! They actually have two locations on either side of Mexico, depending on if you want an east or west-coast resort, so I included them both. Le Blanc is an all-inclusive luxury resort that is absolutely perfect for pregnant mamas in need of pampering.

You can get a room with beach access and a patio/balcony that has pretty much everything you need to feel like you’re in an upscale hotel. You have a jacuzzi, rainfall shower, daily boxes of chocolates, and a Lavazza coffee maker . . . and really comfortable beds, I should note.

As an add-on, they offer a “wellness package,” which provides sunlight alarm clocks, an ozone purifier, daily healthy snacks, and one-on-one personal training. Seriously, what could be better for a pregnant woman looking to relax and truly take care of herself? (Oh, and you can also add butler services if you want.)

The resort has a spa, fitness center, golf course, and plenty of beach space. Beyond sitting by the ocean, you can also go fishing, spend the day on a yacht, tour historic sites, or have a dinner cruise! If you’d rather not eat on a boat, they also offer private gourmet beach dining for a romantic evening date with your spouse. This is a resort we love to return to year after year!
