Between my kids' picky eating habits, back-to-school germs, and my ongoing mission to get more variety on their plates, I’ve been exploring greens powders. I know how important vegetables are for their digestive, immune, and overall health, and greens powders provide a convenient (and sneaky) way to add vegetables to their diet, especially when they’re not thrilled about roasted broccoli or raw carrot sticks.

I decided to compare three popular kids’ greens supplements to see how they stack up and whether they’re worth adding to our routine. Here’s my honest take on Hiya Daily Greens + Superfoods, Amazing Grass Kidz Superfood, and Beam Kids Superpowder.

Criteria #1: Formula

Hiya Daily Greens + Superfoods

  • 55+ whole food sourced ingredients, which includes a greens blend, digestion blend, superfoods blend, and core development blend to support digestion, gut health, brain health, the immune system, and healthy growth and development.
  • Sugar: 0 grams and naturally sweetened with stevia.
  • Fiber: 2 grams per serving

Amazing Grass Kidz Superfood

  • 29 greens, fruits, and vegetables
  • Added sugar: 2 grams per serving (from cane sugar)
  • Fiber: 1 gram per serving

Beam Kids All-In-One Greens Superpowder

  • A cross between a greens powder and multivitamin. It includes 19 vegetables and fruits, and a probiotic blend as well as essential vitamins and minerals. If your child is already taking a kids’ multivitamin or probiotic, you may want to skip this one.
  • Added sugar: 0 grams, sweetened with monk fruit extract.
  • Fiber: 2 grams per serving.

Formula Winner: Hiya Daily Greens + Superfoods

Criteria #3: Taste

Hiya Daily Greens + Superfoods

My son seriously thinks this is chocolate milk, and never leaves a drop left in his cup! It’s pretty impressive that Hiya’s Daily Greens + Superfoods tastes so great without any sugars. It has a deliciously chocolatey flavor (comes in a vanilla flavor too!), none of that earthy, bitter greens taste. You can mix the greens powder into milk or plant-based milk alternatives to create chocolate milk or hot chocolate for your kids. The vanilla is perfect for blending into smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt, or even baking into breakfast cookies or pancakes.

Amazing Grass Kidz Superfood

This blend has a naturally sweet, chocolatey flavor and is also available in Berry Blast. It can be mixed into both cold and warm drinks or added to baked goods.

Beam Kids All-In-One Greens Superpowder

This greens powder comes in both chocolate and chocolate chip cookie flavors. It also tastes like chocolate milk, and is easily drinkable when mixed with milk or water.

Taste Winner: Close Call but goes to Hiya

Criteria #4: Cost

Hiya Daily Greens + Superfoods

$58 per container, or $1.93 per serving.

Amazing Grass Kidz Superfood

$20.99 per container, or $0.70 per serving.

Beam Kids All-In-One Greens Superpowder

$55 per bag, or $2.75 per serving.

Cost Winner: Amazing Grass Kidz Superfood

Hiya Kids Daily Greens + Superfoods is my pick for best kids greens powder!

Hiya Kids Daily Greens + Superfoods has become a favorite in our household and my preferred way to ensure my kids are getting the foods they need to stay healthy (and regular 💩). I appreciate that I can mix it into their morning smoothie or bake it into pancakes or muffins.
